Riley and Lucas are excitedly preparing to welcome their second baby. However, during pregnancy, they received the devastating news that their unborn baby has been diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and serious congenital heart defect that will require specialized medical care, surgeries, and extended hospital stays after birth.
     As they navigate the emotional weight of this diagnosis, they are also facing significant financial challenges. Riley will need to take time away from work to care for her baby and be present during  countless appointments, hospital stays, and treatments. On top of that, the family must relocate from Alaska back to Minnesota to be closer to the medical care and support their baby will need.
